15 Fun Public Speaking Activities

Austin shares a collection of ideas for public speaking practice. These activities can help students overcome the barrier of fear and exercise their public speaking capacities.

Austin says, "Here is a fun speech class activity we did this week. The PowerPoint includes instructions and a few pictures to go with activities #3 and #8. The .docx gives the 15 speech activities which can be pulled from a hat (or other container). I used a sports card page protector because some of the activities require other items to be pulled. My 10-12th graders really enjoyed it, but is was part of a whole speech class. I don't know how comfortable students would be doing these activities if they haven't gotten over their stage fright yet."
